The construction of Lincoln Financial Field, new home of the Philadelphia
Eagles, began on May 7, 2001. Less than 28 months later, the stadium
hosted its first event. Styer & Associates helped make that
deadline possible.
Working non-stop, day and night, Styer’s team brought together
the FF&E assets, including the specifying of all furniture,
fixtures and equipment in assisting Mrs. Geoffrey Lurie with the
coverage of the entire stadium. In addition, Styer & Associates
was utilized for purchasing, invoicing, tracking, budgeting and
warehousing (with the assistance of AIMM for the storage needs)
of not only the assets for the new stadium, but also for inventorying,
assessing and reassigning the assets from the old Veteran’s
Stadium into the new plan as well. Complete AutoCAD-generated plans
detailed the new space (1.8 million sf.) and advanced budget reporting
played a key role in the Philadelphia Eagles’ final decision
making and roll-out of the new stadium. Styer utilized an integrated
(and completely customized for the Eagles) asset-centric database
system tied into the AutoCAD schematic drawings in order to deliver
truly real-time reporting for the project.
On August 3, 2003, the first event at Lincoln Financial Stadium
was played – an international soccer match between Manchester
United and FC Barcelona. The “Inaugural Game” at Lincoln
Financial Field, occurred on Monday, September 8, as the Eagles
played the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a rematch of the 2002 NFC Championship
Game.
